CONFIDENTIALITY POLICY
Engaging in
counselling and psychotherapy is a very private process that entails discussing
personal and
sensitive issues.
Therefore, sharing your own experience with professionals is
confidential. Your
personal information
and progress notes will be kept confidential unless we receive a written
consent
from you to release information to third parties.
There are
other situations, due to legal and ethical standards, where confidentiality
will be breached:
- If we believe
that you are risk of harming yourself or someone else;
- If we suspect
that there is child abuse;
- If there is a
court order to surrender information.
